What is Sentry View, and who is it for?
Sentry View is a security intelligence platform: a georeferenced record of security incidents, humanitarian situations, political events and infrastructure disruptions, plus a territorial assessment layer that expires and is re-verified. Every record carries a confidence level, a cited source and the date of its last verification.
It is built for people who act on the information: humanitarian organisations, corporate security and risk management, press and researchers, and operations and logistics teams. It is meant to complement the judgement of people who know the ground, not to replace it.
What does it cover today?
Haiti has full coverage since launch: security, incident, humanitarian and political reports, with territorial and route assessment, mapped by district (arrondissement).
The African regions are a declared pilot, tracked country by country. Today that consists mainly of following public sources; the verification standard used in Haiti is not yet replicated there, and we say so rather than imply otherwise.
What does the 5-day free trial include, and how is it different from membership?
Every new account starts with a 5-day free trial under the Viewer role: the map and recent public reports for Haiti and the African regions, with the position of each report rounded on the server and without sensitive evidence.
Membership adds the complete history, the exact location of every report, member maps and operational layers, risk zones and critical infrastructure, and the available public evidence. One membership covers both regions.
Do I need a card to try it?
No. The trial starts with an email address and a password; no card is required. Payment details are only entered if you later decide to become a member, and even then they go directly to the payment processor, never to Sentry View.
How much does it cost, and how do I pay?
The reference price is US$18 for 30 days of access, per account. Payment is made from your account through Flow, a Chilean payment processor, so the charge may appear in Chilean pesos at the exchange rate of the day.
There is no automatic renewal: each payment adds 30 days to your membership, and once Flow confirms it your account becomes a Member automatically. An invitation code can also be redeemed from “My account”.
How do I cancel?
There is nothing to cancel: there is no recurring charge and no card is stored. Access simply ends when the 30 days run out unless you choose to pay again, and you receive an email notice shortly before it expires.

What do the confidence levels mean?
Every report carries one of three values. Confirmed: verified by direct observation, or corroborated by two sources independent of each other. Probable: a single source considered reliable, or consistency with other reports from the same area and time, without independent verification. Unverified: received and logged, not corroborated.
Unverified is the default: a report starts there and only moves up when something justifies it. Confidence can also go down, and every reclassification is recorded in the incident timeline.
Why does a report “expire”?
Because an assessment that was correct three weeks ago says nothing useful about today. Every territorial layer and route segment carries a validity period chosen by type of information, from 15 minutes for traffic status to 30 days for a stable territorial assessment; the usual value for a zone is 6 hours.
When it expires it does not disappear: it is marked as “needs review” and stops counting as verified. Re-verifying it leaves a record with the date, the outcome, the method used and a note, which can be consulted from the layer itself.
What is never published?
Locations of humanitarian organisations’ offices, residences, teams or warehouses; names of people who report, or anything that could identify them; exact coordinates for accounts without membership, which receive the position rounded on the server; and attribution of territorial control to groups or individuals outside moderation accounts.
This is not a term of use but a decision about what is responsible to publish in a context of armed violence. The full criteria are in the methodology.
Who operates Sentry View, and who is accountable?
Sentry View is operated by Sentry UAV NSCE SpA (Chilean tax ID 77.779.577-5), from Chile, as an independent, small-scale operation: it is not an NGO, a foundation or a public body, it receives no institutional funding, and it is sustained by the subscriptions of the people who use it.
Editorial and technical responsibility is centralised: one standard decides what gets recorded, how its confidence is classified and when an assessment expires. Questions, corrections and information go to gerencia@sentryuav.app, a real address read by a person.
How do I request a correction, or report information from the field?
Write to gerencia@sentryuav.app naming the report or layer, with any available source or evidence. Corrections are applied to the original record and remain visible in its timeline: the history is not erased.
If you are on the ground, you can share observations or relevant changes at the same address; where appropriate, the information is incorporated without publicly identifying the person who provided it. Everything received is assessed before being incorporated, and receiving information does not imply automatic publication.
Is there an API or a bulk data download?
No. There is no bulk download and no public API, and a subscription does not allow systematic extraction of the dataset. If your organisation needs the data in volume for an analysis, write to gerencia@sentryuav.app stating the purpose; it is assessed case by case under a specific agreement.
